Board Accomplishments
-
After instituting science-based teaching and training and programs such as Write From the Beginning, we have seen an increase in our student’s achievement especially those in our At-Risk groups. Some of the awards our schools have received include; California Distinguished Schools, California School to Watch, Gold PBIS Recognition, and Scholar Designation Performance. Staff updated an acceptable use for AI Framework and pilot programs for teachers are in progress.

Our goal is to provide students with resources to develop their social-emotional skills and support learning and well-being. All schools are now implementing the PBIS Rewards data system and last year the repeat referral rate decreased from 83% to 46%. Our schools are modernized and provide critical safety protocols and campus upgrades, including AC, to provide our students with secure, state-of-the-at learning environments.
-
Last year more parents indicated the district is effective in communication, rating Parent Square as most effective. The district also has a presence in various social medias. 96% of respondents trust the district to communicate transparently and effectively. Parent workshops have been offered, and liaisons are provided for minority outreach.
-
We are now a community-funded district which means we now receive most of our income from property tax and not ADA (average daily attendance) from the state. Being community funded protects us from decreasing enrollment and less money from the state. It also has allowed us to decrease class sizes and offer competitive salaries in order to attract and keep the best teachers and staff.

There are always changes in education and leadership skills need to be focused on data-informed decision making. The strategic plan was developed to keep the district focused on what is important. AI training for leaders is necessary to support and apply AI to enhance teaching and operations.
